How to Host Your Lemonade Stand!

Welcome to Ana’s Summer Adventures Blog! Patriotic Lemonade
Hi! My name is Ana and I’m 10 years old, and today I’m going to tell you all about one of the best things I’ve ever done this summer. I started my very own lemonade stand called Patriotic Lemonade. I decided on that name because I wanted my stand to look extra fun, colorful, and exciting, and I thought red, white, and blue decorations would be perfect. It wasn’t even a holiday or anything, but that didn’t matter. I just really love how those colors look together, and I knew they would make my stand special and stand out. My lemonade stand was super extra special because my dad built it and painted it for me.
He didn’t just grab a table or anything like that. He actually made a little wooden stand with sides and a top, like a real shop you’d see at a fair. Then he painted it bright white so it looked really clean and shiny. I was so excited when I saw it all finished! After my dad did the building and painting, it was my turn to make it fun. I added my own decorations, like red, white, and blue streamers, sparkly star stickers, and drawings that I made myself with markers. I even cut out little paper shapes and taped them all around. By the time I was done, it looked amazing—like a real business that belonged to me.
For the actual lemonade, me and my mom worked together in the kitchen. We squeezed a bunch of real lemons, which made the kitchen smell super fresh and sour all at once. We added water and sugar until it tasted just right. I like my lemonade to be tart and sweet at the same time, so my little secret was to use extra lemon juice . I think that made it taste even fresher and more special than regular lemonade.
Then I made a big sign that said “Patriotic Lemonade – 50¢”. I decorated it with lots of stars and smiley faces, because I wanted people to notice it right away. The only problem was the tape. Every time I tried to stick the sign to the stand, the tape got stuck to my arm or my elbow. I had to pull it off and try again like three times before it finally worked. But when it was up, it looked perfect, so all the struggle was worth it.
My dog Foxy was my helper . She is a pitbull mix and she always makes people smile because she’s so silly and friendly. Since she’s a girly girl, I put a bright red headband on her instead of a bandana . She looked adorable. Foxy is also the captain of my dog walking group called S.P.P.P — Sassy Polished Pup Patrol , and she takes her job very seriously. But her most important job in the whole world is being my emotional support animal . Foxy always knows when I need her, and she makes everything better. At my stand, she wagged her tail so hard it made the cups on the counter rattle. People walking by couldn’t resist stopping to see her. Almost everyone gave her pets, and then they bought lemonade too. Honestly, I think Foxy might have been the best sales dog ever.
One man even laughed and said, “I think your dog just convinced me to buy this.” That made me laugh so hard that I almost spilled the whole pitcher of lemonade right onto my flip-flops. My flip-flops already had some sticky spots from earlier accidents, so I just laughed even more.
By the end of the afternoon, my register that I found on the side of the street was stuffed with coins and crumpled dollar bills . It was PERFECT for my lemonade stand, almost like it was waiting for me to find it. I couldn’t believe how much I had made! I felt really proud of myself, like I was running my very own business. It wasn’t just about the money though—it was about the whole day, how fun it felt, and how Foxy and I had done it together.
When the sun started to go down, I sat on the curb with Foxy by my side. I gave her a big hug and whispered, “We did it!” She wagged her tail like crazy, which I think was her way of saying, “Yes we did!” That moment made me so happy because it felt like Foxy understood everything.
Running Patriotic Lemonade was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done, and I definitely want to do it again soon. Next time, I might even add cookies to the menu.

My favorite colors are purple and tan (I’m a girly girl!).
I always lick my paws on the couch in Ana’s mom’s spot, so it’s always wet when she sits down.
I love Daddy Bear, Ana’s stuffie that her dad gave her. Sometimes I even try to sneak cuddles with him.
