Building a Support System That Empowers Your Dreams
Finding Strength in Friendship, Faith, and Shared Purpose

Life as a military wife, homeschooling mama, crafter, photographer, and just, well, a woman, can feel like a juggling act. Some days, I’m balancing it all with grace. Other days, I’m just praying for a little grit to keep me going. Whether you’re in a season of blooming or in the middle of a tough trial, one thing’s for sure: we need a support system that truly has our backs.
If you’re feeling a little disconnected or like you’re carrying the weight of everything alone, it’s time to start building that solid foundation of support. But here’s the thing: it needs to be the right kind of support—one that lifts you up, strengthens your faith, and encourages your dreams, all while staying grounded in Biblical truth.
So, how do we do this? How do we find and build relationships that actually empower us to keep going, even when things are hard? Let’s dive in!
Seek Like-Minded Women Who Lift You Up

You know that saying, “Iron sharpens iron”? Well, when it comes to building your support system, you need people who will challenge you to grow, not tear you down. Seek out fellow Christian women who share your faith and your values. Surrounding yourself with women who encourage you to keep pushing forward in your dreams, whether in crafting, business, or motherhood, is so important.
When you share your passions with like-minded women, the connections feel natural and meaningful. Whether you’re crafting a new project, setting goals for your family, or just navigating the ups and downs of life, having a friend who’s praying with you and rooting for you is a game-changer.
You can find these women through church groups, homeschooling communities, or even on social media. Platforms like Instagram and Pinterest have tons of faith-centered communities, where we can find encouragement and inspiration. As you find your tribe, don’t be afraid to be real. Share your wins, but also your struggles. True friendship goes beyond just surface-level support—it dives deep into the heart of who you are.
Be Firm in Your Christian Faith

The world is constantly pushing ideas and ideologies that don’t align with our Christian faith. Building a support system that empowers your dreams also means standing firm in the truth of God’s Word. The people you invite into your circle should respect your beliefs and help keep you rooted in Christ.
Sometimes, you’ll face pressure to compromise your faith in the pursuit of success. But remember, God calls us to seek Him first. It’s through His strength that we find true success. Surround yourself with women who remind you of this when you’re tempted to get off track. I’ve had many moments where I’ve wanted to react in my flesh and I had dear friends remind me that Christ called me to live differently. Those are the kinds of friends you want!
The world can be loud, but your faith should be louder. Be bold in standing firm in your faith, even if it means standing alone at times. When you find others who share your convictions, you’ll be amazed at how much stronger your dreams will feel in the light of His purpose for your life.
Create Space for Collaboration

Collaboration isn’t just about sharing ideas—it’s about coming together to support one another’s dreams. This might mean partnering with a friend to tackle a project, helping each other out in business, or just sharing your resources and wisdom. Women are powerful when we work together.
As I have started my blogging journey I’ve had a good friend Mona from Far From The Farm blog encourage me in my journey and help me to get started. We both are Christian bloggers but we know that since we have different writing styles & different life experiences we aren’t competition but encouragement for each other! I would love for you to give her some love over on her blog: https://farfromthefarm.com/
If you’re a crafter, photographer, or someone with a creative passion, you know how powerful it is to share ideas and collaborate with others who get it. The right team of collaborators will challenge you, push your creativity, and help you expand in ways you never expected.
I’ve had the chance to collaborate with many different photographers, get together for lunches or coffee and some have become dear friends of mine. Never underestimate the power of networking.
Look for opportunities to collaborate, whether it’s a crafting challenge, a photography session, or a new business venture. Be open to learning from others and sharing your own knowledge. When we work together in the body of Christ, the possibilities are endless.
Set Boundaries for Healthy Relationships

We all know that relationships take work, but what happens when those relationships are draining or pulling us away from what really matters? This is where setting healthy boundaries comes in.
Having a support system doesn’t mean saying “yes” to everything or letting everyone take up your time and energy. Setting boundaries means prioritizing your health—both physical and spiritual. Be mindful of the relationships you allow to influence your life. Are they helping you grow closer to God and to your dreams? Or are they weighing you down?
Being intentional about the people you spend time with and the conversations you engage in is key to maintaining a healthy balance. Don’t be afraid to say “no” when necessary, and protect your peace and purpose. I’ve definitely been learning this throughout the last year. As I’ve faced health challenges and people haven’t shown up like I thought they would I had to realize that those relationships may not be for me.
Now I understand people get busy and have lives of their own. However a friend should not only be there when it’s easy and fun. A friend should not only be there when they need something from you. A friend should be there to walk beside you through the good, the bad and the ugly. If not, it’s time to re-evaluate those friendships & set boundaries.
Remember, It’s All About Grace & Grit

Some seasons of life are marked by grace, while others are marked by grit. But through it all, God is with you. Building a support system that empowers your dreams doesn’t mean your journey will be perfect. You will face challenges. There will be tough days. But it’s in those moments that God shows His strength through you. Your circle may only include one or two close friends. THAT’s OKAY! It’s better to have two close friends that you can count on then ten mediocre friends that you can’t.
As you build relationships that empower you, remember that God’s grace covers you in every season. And when you hit those tough patches, the grit to keep going comes from Him too. Trust in His plan for your life, and lean into the support of women who encourage you to hold on to His promises.
