How a Nervous Senior Blossomed in the Spotlight at a Stunning Wildlife Refuge
When it comes to capturing special moments, there’s something so magical about senior portraits. And let me tell you, this session with Lexy stole my heart. Anyone who knows me well knows that my heart is stuck in the Southeast, and I feel so blessed to get to shoot in areas that reflect that warm, country vibe. So when we took Lexy’s senior portraits at a wildlife refuge, it was like a dream come true. I’m literally still talking about how beautiful it was!
Now, let me paint the picture for you: Lexy showed up to the session a little nervous (I mean, who wouldn’t be with a camera in their face, right?). But, just like always, a little encouragement from me, and that nervous energy melted away. Within minutes, she went from shy to full-on model mode. And I couldn’t have been more proud of her!
The Magic of the Wildlife Refuge
We shot at one of my favorite spots—the wildlife refuge—and y’all, I cannot get over how magical it is. The natural beauty of the area, even with the overcast skies the sense of calm just set the stage for an unforgettable session. There’s something about the country, rustic vibes that make every portrait feel so personal and timeless. Lexy’s Look: A Perfect Mix of Style & Comfort
Let’s talk about Lexy’s wardrobe choices—because she NAILED it! She brought a stunning tan dress that was perfect for the outdoor setting. Soft, flowing, and effortlessly chic. But she didn’t stop there! Lexy also brought her favorite casual outfit, which added an amazing contrast to her more formal look. We had so much fun getting creative with different poses, and I loved how she embraced the more editorial vibes I was going for. She was definitely channeling the “model” side of herself once she got comfortable.
It’s always a joy to see a young woman come alive in front of the camera, especially when they are able to express their true selves. Lexy’s confidence grew as we continued, and I was able to capture some truly breathtaking moments. It’s the perfect reminder that everyone is beautiful, no matter where they are in their journey. And let me tell you, Lexy’s journey is just beginning, and it’s going to be amazing.

Not only was this session full of fun and creativity, but I also learned so much about Lexy. She’s involved in so many amazing things at school, and I can already tell she’s going to go on to do incredible things.
